President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a law that simplifies the write-off of military property. The relevant information appeared on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, reports
This is the Law of Ukraine on Amendments to Article 4 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Legal Regime of Property in the Armed Forces of Ukraine” to simplify the procedure for writing off military property.
It stipulates that the commander of a military unit during martial law may write off property without approval if its value does not exceed 100,000 tax-free minimum incomes, i.e. UAH 1.7 million.
The law also introduces a simplified procedure for writing off property in case of its loss during hostilities. Such property will be listed in a single write-off act drawn up by the commission and participants or witnesses of the event and submitted for approval to senior management.
Investigations into the circumstances of the loss of property will be ordered only if the unit commander has reasonable grounds to believe that it was used improperly or that there were any offences.
