In Budapest, Hungary, on 19 September, the Danube burst its banks and began flooding the streets. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to local media.
The water even flooded the Hungarian parliament building.
The floods are expected to peak on Saturday, when the water level will rise to about 8.5 metres, compared to the usual level of 3.5 metres.
Earlier, due to the floods, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced that he was forced to postpone his international affairs, including a speech in the European Parliament.
The floods in several European countries are caused by Cyclone Boris, which is moving from northern Italy. In particular, it affected Romania, the Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Germany and Moldova. At least 23 people have been killed by the floods, and thousands of people have been evacuated.
