In terms of cooperation and development of relations with the State of Israel, Ukraine is primarily interested in the exchange of technologies that will help save the lives of civilians and repel Russian aggression. Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk said in an interview with the Times of Israel.
“Israel is a relatively small state with an area roughly the size of one Ukrainian region. It can be reasonably assumed that even if Israel provided Ukraine with all the necessary weapons, it would not change the situation on the ground. It is of paramount importance that we engage in technology exchange,” he said.
The ambassador explained: “We could share and exchange knowledge with the Israeli side on how to prevent or neutralise missile attacks or drone attacks. This is of paramount importance to us, given that Russia will try to destroy our energy system before winter. It is important to get as much technology as possible to successfully overcome this problem and ensure that Ukrainians are always warm during the winter months.”
At the same time, Korniychuk noted that official Kyiv has a constant request to international partners for weapons and ammunition.
“Our goal is a military victory. It seems that it has almost been achieved, especially given the significant territories liberated in Kharkiv and Kherson regions. However, there has been a persistent shortage of ammunition and long-range precision missiles, as well as other necessary resources for forward and offensive operations. Despite recent improvements, these shortcomings persist,” the diplomat stressed.
Korniychuk added: “People are our greatest asset, not land. We must consider a range of options, including military action, as well as diplomatic and political negotiations at the local level. Our goal should be to save as many lives as possible.”
