Demand for cars from China: which models were chosen by Ukrainians in October

Last month, Ukrainians purchased 1.2 thousand cars imported from China. This is 8% less compared to October 2023. This is reported by Komersant ukrainskyi
with reference to Ukravtoprom.
It is noted that out of this number of cars, 979 units were new (11%), and 228 units (-47%) were used.
According to analysts, cars of Chinese origin accounted for 17% of the October new car market. In the segment of used cars that were registered in Ukraine for the first time, the share of “Chinese” was 1.4%.
Ukravtoprom emphasizes that the vast majority of cars from China were electric vehicles – 81%.
The most popular models of new cars of Chinese origin are:
- HONDA M-NV – 188 units;
- VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 – 100 units;
- ZEEKR 001 – 94 units;
- BYD Song Plus – 74 units;
- AUDI Q4 e-tron – 41 units.
The most popular models of used cars from China:
- ZEEKR 001 – 20 units;
- HONDA M-NV – 20 units;
- POLESTAR 2 – 17 units;
- BAIC EC3 – 15 units;
- VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 – 14 units.
It should be noted that the statistics shows the growing popularity of electric vehicles in Ukraine and indicates the regions where these cars are in the greatest demand. The demand for electric vehicles grew by 68% over the year.
Meanwhile, the West is fighting the Chinese electric car industry: The EU is ready to take tough measures against Chinese electric cars, and the US will quadruple tariffs on them.
