More than 95% of the drones used by the Defense Forces at the front are made in Ukraine.
This is stated in a column by Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Valeriy Churkin in Interfax-Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“We have made a major breakthrough in the unmanned systems sector. More than 95% of the UAVs currently used at the front are of Ukrainian production,” said the deputy defense minister.
To understand the dynamics of the development of domestic unmanned systems, Churkin noted that “in 2024, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine approved more than 330 new models of domestic unmanned systems (UAVs and UAS) for operation. A year earlier, it was 75 samples.”
According to him, the bet on drones was made in view of the unequal conditions of the parties in terms of the number of soldiers, guns, and equipment. The development of domestic military technologies was an asymmetric response to the enemy’s significant advantage.
