The state budget has already received more than UAH 1 million for the sale of Medvedchuk’s confiscated paintings
29 November 10:5680 paintings from the seized collection of the traitor Viktor Medvedchuk have already been successfully sold. This was reported by the National Agency of Ukraine for Finding, Tracing and Management of Assets, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.
As noted, the total amount of the collection sold is UAH 1,021,760. In addition, 56 more paintings are in the process of being sold.
As the National Agency for Asset Recovery and Management reminded, information on the cost and conditions of participation in auctions for these lots can be found on Prozorro.Sale.
In total, 136 of the 285 Medvedchuk paintings seized and transferred to ARMA have been put up for auction, and 149 have been recognized by experts from the National Art Museum as Ukraine’s cultural heritage, and these works should be transferred to Ukrainian museums.
What other of Medvedchuk’s seized assets have already been sold
Earlier, the National Asset Recovery and Management Agency successfully sold other seized assets of Medvedchuk, including a collection of expensive watches, a Maybach car, ATVs and a buggy.
In October, an auction was held where a Dolce & Gabbana wristwatch belonging to the traitor was auctioned off. There were 4 bidders for the lot. The sale price of the watch was UAH 285,000. Thus, all 20 watches from Medvedchuk’s collection were sold. The total amount of money raised from the sale of this collection was over UAH 7 million.
In August, the Asset Recovery and Management Agency completed the sale of Medvedchuk’s last BOMBARDIER ATV and a MAYBACH car. The total amount of the sale amounted to UAH 1,989,009, including UAH 160,000 for the ATV (made in 2004) and UAH 1,829,009 for the MAYBACH (made in 2003). Earlier, the National Agency had already sold a buggy and a quad bike for almost UAH 1 million. Thus, Medvedchuk’s vehicles have been sold for almost UAH 3 million in total.
Where exactly are the proceeds going?
As explained by the National Asset Recovery and Management Agency, for example, the funds received from the sale of Medvedchuk’s watches and car fleet were used to replenish the Agency’s deposit portfolio for the purchase of military bonds. Thus, these funds are used directly to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
