After Trump’s victory, the United States and Europe are already talking about reconsidering their attitudes toward the war in Ukraine

Bookmakers have started accepting bets on whether Trump will end the war in Ukraine in 90 days. And although this probability is currently estimated at 45%, this figure may grow further, Komersant ukrainskyiKomersant Ukrainian suggests.

This estimation curve will be pushed up not so much by Donald Trump’s actions as by the statements and calls of his supporters.

In an interview with NBC, Republican Marco Rubio, vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, who, according to The Hill, is considered a potential secretary of state in the Trump administration, said it bluntly: “the war in Ukraine has reached a stalemate, it’s time to end it.”

“Ukrainians have been incredibly brave and strong. But ultimately, what we are funding is a dead-end war that needs to end,” he said.

At the same time, according to Rubio, “you don’t have to be a fan of Putin to want the war to end.”

After Trump’s victory, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban spoke about the need for a new European strategy for Ukraine

According to him, the Republican victory in the US elections “puts on the agenda for us, European leaders,” the question of whether Europe will be able to continue military and financial support for Ukraine on its own.

“There are serious doubts about this, so a new European strategy will be needed,” the Hungarian prime minister said, adding that the first steps in this direction could be taken on Thursday in Budapest, at an informal EU summit.

The most difficult issue to be resolved, he said, is the fate of the 50 billion euro loan to Ukraine, which, according to a preliminary decision of the G7, will be financed jointly by the European Union and the United States.
