The contractor for the construction of the metro on Vynohradar put state funds on deposit

The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office has defended the decision to recover UAH 139 million from the contractor who worked on the construction of the Vynohradar metro station in favour of Kyiv residents. This was reported by Komersant UkrainianKomersant Ukrainian with reference to the prosecutor’s office website.

Investigators found that the commercial structure, contrary to the law, placed funds received from the city budget for the construction of the subway from the Syrets metro station to the Vynohradar residential area on a deposit account with a bank.

The case was opened in 2021. It was considered by courts of various instances for three years.

Finally, on 21 October 2024, the Northern Commercial Court of Appeal agreed with the prosecutor’s position, dismissed the company’s appeal and upheld the decision of the City Commercial Court.
