Switching to daylight saving time 2024: when to set your clocks
2 March 03:47Daylight saving time in Ukraine usually takes place on the last Sunday of March. This year, daylight saving time will take place on 31 March, reports Kommersant Ukrainsky
Daylight saving time is enshrined in Ukrainian law. on 13 May 1996, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution “On the Procedure for Calculating Time on the Territory of Ukraine”, according to which Ukrainians must set their clocks twice a year.
Although there have been numerous discussions about the feasibility of seasonal time changes, no final decision has been made. Accordingly, in 2024, we will switch to daylight saving time according to the schedule.
Switching to daylight saving time is more complicated than switching to winter time, although in both cases it is not good for health, as it disrupts the biorhythms of the human body. After daylight saving time, you will need to get up and go to bed 1 hour earlier.
When to change clocks in 2024
Daylight saving time will take place on 31 March at 3:00 am. At 3:00 am Kyiv time, the clocks will be set one hour forward.
Clocks are set back on the day off so that you have at least a day to adapt to the new time.
Do I need to set the clock on my phone?
The time in the clocks on most modern gadgets – smartphones, tablets, laptops, computers – is automatically set. That is, you do not need to change anything manually. Also, if the user has an alarm clock, it will continue to ring at the specified time.
