Uklon has officially confirmed that it is in discussions with Kyivstar mobile operator regarding a potential transaction. However, its implementation is possible only after the approval of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU ) and completion of all necessary procedures. This was stated by Sergiy Grishkov, CEO of Uklon, in a commentary for AIN.UA, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.

Investments in development and entry into new markets

According to Hryshkov, if the deal is successfully closed, the investments will be used to develop Uklon’s digital services, expand its geography and increase its team. At the same time, the company’s structure and management will remain unchanged.

“Over the past few years, the company has received offers from various investors, which were considered. But right now we are at the point where this dialog between us and the potential investor, Kyivstar, is entering a qualitatively new phase. Both our companies have a common interest in this deal. That is why we are now talking about our intention to conclude this deal after receiving approval from the AMCU and completing all other stages,” said Mr. Grishkov.

Joint prospects with Kyivstar

Uklon’s CEO also emphasized that the arrival of a strategic investor in the form of Kyivstar and the global digital operator VEON opens up new opportunities for the company:

  • Expanding investments in digital services
  • Entering new markets
  • Strengthening the team and technological development.

The closing of the transaction will not affect the company’s structure or management changes.

“We believe that Kyivstar’s experience, expertise, resources and advanced technologies will help strengthen Uklon’s leading services, providing users with an even better, more innovative and convenient product: our riders, driver partners and business customers,” added Grishkov.

In December 2024, Kyivstar submitted applications to the AMCU for the acquisition of Tech Uklon, Uklon Corporation, Uklon Ukraine and Cyprus-based UKLON LTD. The regulator’s decision will determine the fate of the deal and affect the possibility of its implementation.

According to media reports, Kyivstar plans to buy Uklon for $40-80 million.
