Ukrainian athletes won four medals on the first day of the 2024 Summer Paralympic Games in Paris (France) and are ranked 17th in the medal standings. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the National Paralympic Committee of Ukraine.
In total, on the first day of the competition, the Ukrainian Paralympians won 2 silver and 2 bronze medals. All the awards were won by swimmers.
Thus, swimmer Anton Kol won silver in the 100-metre backstroke in the S1 class.
Anna Gontar won a bronze medal in the 50m freestyle, class S6. This is the athlete’s second Paralympic Games.
Iryna Poyda won a silver medal in the 200m freestyle final, S5 class.
Aleksandr Komarov won a bronze medal in the 200m freestyle, class S5.
