The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has presented a new commemorative coin “Parliamentarism” dedicated to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the NBU press service.
The commemorative coin “Parliamentarism” has a face value of 5 hryvnias, is made of nickel silver, and its circulation is 50 thousand pieces in souvenir packaging.
The obverse of the commemorative coin features stylised silhouettes of modern Ukrainians representing different social, age and professional groups.
Between the silhouettes are the following inscriptions: RIGHTS, FREEDOM, DEMOCRACY, HUMAN, DEFENCE OF THE FATHERLAND, PEOPLE, PARLIAMENTARISM, DEVELOPMENT OF THE COUNTRY, INCLUSIVENESS, EQUALITY, EUROINTEGRATION and LAW.
Below is a picture of the information board, recognisable to all Ukrainians, which is used to display voting results in the session hall of the Verkhovna Rada.
On its reverse, a stylised Ukrainian ornament is placed in a circle, and in the centre of the composition on a mirror background is the logo of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The coin was designed by Tetiana Baluta and sculpted by Volodymyr Atamanchuk.
The commemorative coin will be available for purchase at the NBU’s online numismatic products store and at distributor banks.
