Online services: what Ukrainians pay for most often – research

28% of Ukrainians pay for online services and plan to do so in the future. This is one of the results of a study conducted by Rakuten Viber. It was reported by Dev.ua, Komersant ukrainskyi informs.

More than 5000 respondents took part in the survey, including more than 50% under the age of 45.

It was found that 28% of the survey participants pay for online services and plan to continue, 13% used to pay before but stopped doing so, 59% do not use paid services and have not had such experience before.

What do Ukrainians pay for most often?

The survey participants could choose several options and, as it turned out, Ukrainians most often pay for movies and videos, games, music, and education:

Movies and videos – 45%;

Games – 36%;

Music – 35%;

Education – 30%;

Programs for work – 20%;

Books – 17%;

Other (your option) – 16%;

Applications for communication, messengers – 15%;

Taxes – 8%;

Dating – 7%.

How much Ukrainians are willing to pay for online services

As for the expenditures on paid services among those who use them, the following are the figures:

– 47% of respondents spend 100-400 UAH per month,

– 29% spend more than 400 UAH.

– 24% of respondents spend less than UAH 100.

The Rakuten Viber study also found that 53% of Ukrainians have never downloaded music or movies from pirated websites and torrents. Instead, 47% of survey participants have had such experience.

Rakuten Viber asked Ukrainians not only about online services

The Rakuten Viber team is actually very fond of conducting various surveys. For example, they decided to find out how Ukrainians feel about remote work.

The survey results showed that 24% of respondents prefer to work from home. On the other hand, 17% of respondents say they face difficulties working online.

Rakuten Viber also asked how much time users spend on their smartphones and how often they check news and messages in their channels. The survey revealed that 39% of Ukrainians spend 4-6 hours a day on their smartphones. Another third of respondents (35%) spend only 1-2 hours online, noting that they are busy with other things. 26% of respondents spend about 2-4 hours online during the day.

The Rakuten Viber team also decided to find out whether Ukrainians have sought psychological help over the past two years. The results of a survey conducted at the beginning of last year showed that only 9% of Ukrainians have sought psychological help: 6% said it helped them, while the remaining 3% did not feel any relief. Another 6% of respondents intend to seek help in the future. At the same time, the overwhelming majority of respondents have not sought and do not plan to seek the services of specialists: 39% of them do not need it, and 11% said it was too expensive. 22% of Ukrainians coped with the emotional burden on their own, without involving specialists. The remaining respondents (13%) do not believe in the benefits of such consultations in general.
