Shelling of Sumy: terrible consequences of the attack on a residential building

On the evening of Sunday, November 17, Russian troops struck a residential building in Sumy with a ballistic missile. 11 people were killed, including 2 children. This was reported by the State Emergency Service, Komersant ukrainskyi reports

On the evening of November 17, Russian troops attacked Sumy. A densely populated residential area of the city was attacked. One of the “arrivals” fell on a high-rise building.

“A missile attack on Sumy. As of this morning, the death toll from the attack has increased to 11, including 2 children. Another 55 people were injured, including 8 children,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the Prosecutor’s Office of Sumy region clarified that a nine-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl were killed.

The SES noted that more than 400 people were evacuated from the damaged building.

Stability points have been set up at the site. Rescuers, police, and all other necessary services are helping people cope with their injuries and providing all necessary support.

It is also noted that the windows of six ten-story buildings were damaged and four cars were destroyed. A door-to-door tour of all damaged buildings is being conducted to check every nook and cranny and find the victims.

The acting mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar, said that the Sumy City Territorial Community had declared Days of Mourning on November 18 and 19 to mourn the victims.
