The new head of the NAZC

Viktor Pavlushchyk, a detective with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, has been appointed the new head of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, the citing the NAPC press service.

The competition commission unanimously, with six votes out of six, declared him the winner of the competition.

“Currently, Viktor Pavlushchyk is a senior detective – head of the detective department of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. The competition commission determined that Viktor Pavlushchyk has the best professional experience, knowledge and qualities to perform the duties of the NACP Head, as well as meets the criteria of competence and integrity,”

– the statement reads.

In his motivation letter, Pavlushchyk wrote that he would strive to make the NACP a transparent, honest, open and effective anti-corruption agency.

“My first priority as the head of the NACP team will be to preserve and improve the agency’s work, maintain and increase the economic and social impact of its activities, as well as maximise the level of public trust. This will gradually lead to
cleansing Ukrainian society from corruption by creating zero tolerance to corruption among all citizens and understanding that the fight against corruption starts with everyone,”

– pavlushchyk wrote.

In his 2022 declaration, Pavlushchyk did not list any real estate in his possession. He uses a 45 sq m apartment in the capital. His two sons own an equivalent 25% share of a 59 sq m apartment in Kyiv. The woman with whom he lives owns a 70 sq m house in the village of Sviatopetrivske near Kyiv and an 81 sq m plot of land there, as well as 33% of an apartment in Zaporizhzhia (67 sq m).

In his 2023 declaration, Pavlushchyk did not provide information about any of these properties. Presumably, it is not yet fully filled in.

Pavlushchyk owns a 2019 Nissan Leaf (UAH 725 thousand), a 2016 Toyota Camry (UAH 400 thousand), a 2010 Citroen Grand C4 Picasso, and a 1991 KAMAZ.

In 2013, the detective earned over UAH 2 million 800 thousand at his main place of work. He declared USD 11,500 in cash, as well as USD 7,460 and UAH 100,172 in bank accounts. He has a loan from Oschadbank for UAH 1,052,434.

The decision of the Commission to appoint Viktor Pavlushchyk as the NACP’s head must be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
