Recent personnel changes in the Ukrainian government do not inspire hope in most Ukrainians. 74% of Ukrainians believe that nothing will change. This is evidenced by a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), Komersant UkrainianKomersant Ukrainian reports.

In September, the Ukrainian government underwent several significant personnel rotations, during which several ministers and other government officials were dismissed and replaced by new people. The KIIS survey was aimed at finding out what changes Ukrainians expect – whether the Government’s performance will improve, deteriorate or remain unchanged.

It is noted that the overwhelming majority of Ukrainians – 74% – believe that nothing will change in the Government’s activities after the recent changes. The performance of the Government is expected to improve – 12%, and 6% expect it to deteriorate.

In all regions of Ukraine, the majority believes that nothing will change in the Government’s activities.

Among those who trust Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the majority (64%) also believe that nothing will change in the Government’s activities after the recent changes. At the same time, among those who trust him, there are indeed more of those who expect some improvement in the situation (19%).

At the same time, among those who do not trust Zelenskyy, 88% believe that nothing will change in the Government’s activities, and only 7% believe that the activities will worsen.

While the attitude towards the Government of Ukraine improved significantly after the full-scale invasion, the public’s assessments began to deteriorate. In May 2024, KIIS conducted a survey for NDI, according to which only 14% of Ukrainians gave a good assessment of the Government’s performance over the past year (another 34% gave neither good nor poor assessment, and 50% gave a poor assessment).
