At an extraordinary meeting, the Accounting Chamber decided to conduct new financial audits of the State Property Fund and the State Protection Department. This is reported by Komersant ukrainskyi
with reference to the press service of the Accounting Chamber.
The Accounting Chamber has amended the Work Plan for 2024, namely adding two new control measures:
- “Financial audit of the State Property Fund of Ukraine” (for 2024);
- “Financial audit of the consolidated financial and consolidated budgetary statements of the State Protection Department of Ukraine (for 2024).
Member of the Accounting Chamber Gennadiy Plis is responsible for both control measures.
Plis noted that in accordance with the best international practices of conducting financial statements audits, they should be initiated within the calendar year for which the statements are being analysed.
According to him, this will enable the audited entities to get acquainted with the identified deficiencies and eliminate them at the stage of preparation of the reports, as well as to avoid cases when it is no longer possible to correct the identified errors for technical reasons.
