National selection for Eurovision 2025: 10 performers compete for the joker’s place in the final

“On January 2, UA:PBC will hold a draw for ten vocalists who are competing for the vacant spot of the finalist of the National Selection for Eurovision 2025. This year, ten performers are applying for the joker’s place in the final. This is reported on the official website of Eurovision in Ukraine, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
Currently, the nine finalists are: Future Culture, KHAYAT, KRYLATA, MOLODI, Ziferblat, Abiye, DK Energetik, Masha Kondratenko, and Vlad Sherif. The participants who did not make it to the finalist list after the two days of auditions will be voted for online in the Diia mobile app in January.
The draw for the ten vocalists applying for the vacant finalist spot will take place offline with the participation of the performers and their representatives on January 2, 2025, and the results will be published on the broadcaster’s official resources.
According to the determined sequence numbers, the participants will be presented in the list of online voting on the Diia mobile application, which will take place from January 13 to 17, 2025.
This year, ten performers are competing for the joker’s spot in the final: BRYKULETS, ENLEO, FIЇNKA, GRISANA, MON FIA, Ranrawi, Starykova Hrystyna, YAGODY, MUAYAD and Listen to Sasha.
The winner of the online voting will perform in the final of the competition along with the finalists: Future Culture, KHAYAT, KRYLATA, MOLODI, Ziferblat, Abiye, DK Energetic, Masha Kondratenko and Vlad Sherif.
The full list of the National Selection participants will be published on January 17, 2025.
The final of the National Selection 2025 will take place on February 8.
According to the results of the voting in the Diia app, the following were elected to the jury of the National Selection 2025: Jamala, the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 winner; Serhiy Tanchynets, musician, producer, leader of the rock band Bez Obmezhen (No Limits); and Kateryna Pavlenko, frontwoman of Go_A.
the 69th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the Swiss city of Basel. The Eurovision Grand Final will take place on Saturday, May 17, and the semifinals will be held on May 13 and 15, 2025.
The contest will be held at the St. Jakobshalle arena after Nemo won the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with the song “The Code”.
Accordingly, 38 countries will take part in the contest, 32 of which will compete in the semifinals. In the grand final, the 20 semi-final winners will be joined by representatives of the Big Five countries: Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Spain, as well as last year’s winner Switzerland.
