National Bank cuts dollar price: exchange rate as of 31 January

The National Bank of Ukraine has lowered the dollar after five days of growth, the with reference to the regulator.

According to the National Bank, as of 31 January 2024, the official exchange rate was set at UAH 37.8746 per dollar, which is 0.0116 UAH less than the previous rate.

Over thepast month, the dollar has fallen by 11 kopecks, compared to UAH 37.9824 as of 31 December 2023.

The NBU also set the euro exchange rate at UAH 41.0845 per euro, an increase of UAH 0.0803.

On the interbank market, the dollar decreased by 16 kopecks to UAH 37.68-37.75 per dollar (buy and sell) compared to the previous day.

On the cash market, the dollar also fell, reaching 38.30 UAH/USD, which is 5 kopecks less.

Theofficial NBU exchange rates as of 31 January are as follows:

  • 1 US dollar – UAH 37.8746
  • 1 euro – UAH 41.0845
  • 1 Polish zloty – UAH 9.4155
  • 10 Russian rubles – UAH 4.2322

It should be noted that in 2023, Ukrainian banks imported a record amount of foreign currency equivalent to USD 9.5 billion since 2014. For comparison, back in 2022, this figure was $5.9 billion.
