National Bank issues silver coin “New Year’s Toy”

On Christmas and New Year’s Eve, the National Bank of Ukraine issued a commemorative coin “New Year’s Toy” made of silver. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the NBU press service.

The New Year’s Toy commemorative coin is made of silver and has a face value of 10 hryvnias.

The obverse depicts an elegant decorative embroidered motif in the form of snowflakes, which are traditionally used to decorate winter windows.

The reverse features a Christmas composition with nativity scene characters in a modern interpretation. In the center is a Christmas tree with the main symbol of Christmas – the Star of Bethlehem. Around it, stylized carolers sing Christmas songs, bringing joy and warmth to every home. The nativity scene also features a symbolic image of a warrior, representing the modern defenders of Ukraine who are eager to return home to celebrate the holidays with their families.

The coin is decorated with enamel and local gilding.

Its design was created by artists Volodymyr Taran, Oleksandr Kharuk, and Serhiy Kharuk.

The mintage is up to 10 thousand pieces.

How to buy the coin

On December 20, the first part of the New Year’s Toy commemorative coin mintage was launched in the NBU online store.

The NBU will provide additional information on the next sales of these coins in the online store.
