Oleksiy Furman , adeputy of the Vinnytsia regional council of the All-Ukrainian UnionSvoboda‘,could become the next potential victim after Iryna Farion. This was stated in an exclusive commentary to [comersant ] by Dmitry Snegirev, co-chairman of the Pravova Sprava civil initiative.

The Security Service of Ukraine named the motives for the murder of Irina Farion as “religious or national hatred”. This completely coincides with the version of the next victim, MP Maksym Buzhansky, Snegiryov said.

After all, Farion’s alleged killer was subscribed to right-wing social networks, including the public page “Against the System”, owned by Marko Bondarenko. The blogger promotes conspiracy theories, racist and neo-Nazi ideas. He has also criticised Farion regarding his national origin.

WHO IS OLEXIY FURMAN AND WHY COULD HE BE THE NEXT VICTIM?

The photo shows the search history from the suspect’s phone. According to law enforcement, the alleged killer was choosing his next victim and Googling information about other people. In particular, he searched for information on when the Vinnytsia Regional Council would meet.

Dmytro Snegiryov, co-chair of the Right Cause civic initiative, drew the attention of law enforcement to another person – Oleksiy Furman, a member of the Vinnytsia Regional Council of the All-Ukrainian Union of Freedom.

“It becomes clear that the search engine lists the Vinnytsia Regional Council, the All-Ukrainian Union ‘Svoboda’ and, accordingly, a specific deputy. The surname Furman also gives grounds to say that the alleged murderer of Iryna Farion had a national enmity,” – Dmitry Snegirev

It turns out that Alexei Furman’s grandfather was a member of the communist elite and held quite serious positions in the Communist Party of Ukraine.

Furman Mykola Korniovych was a Ukrainian Soviet party activist, second secretary of the Vinnytsia regional committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine, member of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR of 5-7-8 convocations, and a member of the CPU’s audit committee in 1966-1976. Mykola Furman was born in a Jewish town in the Khmelnytskyi region. He studied at the Odesa Pedagogical Institute, where he became a communist while still a student, which was a rarity at the time. Usually, only those students who became full-time KGB informants were accepted into the Communist Party.

And Oleksiy Furman, a current deputy of the Vinnytsia Regional Council, was asked questions about his grandfather and father, a communist, Snegiryov says. However, he denied the dubious past of his family. Moreover, Oleksiy Furman took his oath in his grandfather’s embroidered shirt.

“It turns out that Mykola Furman was a man who was not just involved in the Communist Party in Vinnytsia region, but was one of the organisers of the mass famine in Vinnytsia region,” Snegiryov quotes open sources

In 1944-1948, Oleksiy Furman’s grandfather worked as the second secretary of the Trostianets district party committee. It was the second secretaries who were responsible for ideology – their task was to destroy everything Ukrainian. Second secretaries were also responsible for the forced removal of bread from the district during the famine of 1946-1947. Local peasants say that the famine in the Trostianets district was very severe, and the authorities behaved in an atrocious manner.

Dmytro Snegiryov, co-chair of the Pravova Sprava civic initiative, concludes that the person looking for a potential next victim was probably familiar with the biography of Oleksiy Furman, who has communist roots. He also demands that this person be provided with physical protection to prevent his elimination. After all, the SBU’s information about national or religious hatred can open a Pandora’s box.
