Consequences of the massive attack on 15 February: explosions in Kyiv, “arrivals” in Lviv and Zaporizhzhia

This morning, the Russian occupiers fired missiles at Ukraine using Tu-95MS strategic aircraft. On the night of 15 February, the Russian occupation army attacked Ukraine with various types of missiles. Air defence forces destroyed 13 air targets. In total, the Russians launched 26 missiles: air- and sea-launched, ballistic, aircraft and anti-aircraft.

A total of 26 air attack vehicles of the Russian army were spotted:

  • 12 X-101/X-555/X-55 cruise missiles were launched from T-95ms strategic aircraft from Engels;
  • 6 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic miss iles were launched from Voronezh;
  • 2 Kalibr cruise missiles were launched by the occupiers from Novorossiysk in Russia;
  • 4 X-59 guided missiles were launched from the TOT of Zaporizhzhya region and Kursk region (Russia);
  • 2 S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles were fired from the Belgorod region of Russia.

The forces and means of the Air Force in cooperation with the air defence of the Defence Forces destroyed 13 missiles of various types:

  • 8 X-101/X-555/X-55 cruise missiles;
  • 1 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic miss ile;
  • 2 Kalibr cruise miss iles;
  • 2 X-59 guided missiles.

The main thing at the moment

Kyiv

According to the KIA, the morning’s missile attack was complex, involving a variety of missile types. The missiles attacked Kyiv from different directions. The air raid lasted for over 2 hours. The air defence forces destroyed all the missiles flying towards the capital.

According to local authorities, there were no casualties or damage in Kyiv. The city’s life support system is operating normally.

Lviv

The city came under fire from more than 10 missiles. Air defences worked effectively, but one missile hit an infrastructure facility, causing a fire.

On Naukova Street, the blast wave damaged windows in 16 residential buildings, cars parked nearby and an infrastructure facility. Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi added that two schools and one kindergarten were damaged, more than 400 windows were smashed, and a total of 18 residential buildings were damaged.

Three people were injured in the morning attack in Lviv. Two residents of houses on Naukova Street, which were hit by the blast wave, suffered cut wounds. They were treated on the spot, and another man was hospitalised with a haematoma.

Zaporizhzhia

In the morning, Zaporizhzhia also came under attack. An infrastructure facility was shelled, and four people were injured. Apartment blocks, an educational institution and a commercial building were also damaged.

Poltava region

In Poltava region, overnight, Russians hit a warehouse in Myrhorod district, causing a fire on an area of 100 m².

There were no casualties or injuries.

Dnipropetrovska oblast

The morning in the Dnipro region began with explosions. Russian troops attacked civilian infrastructure. The head of the Dnipropetrovs’k Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, expressed his gratitude to the air defence forces, details of the attack will be clarified later.

Khmelnytsky region

In Khmelnytsky region, a massive strike on Ukraine caused damage to infrastructure and residential buildings in the region. In addition, a private house caught fire as a result of a missile being shot down and its debris falling.

According to the first deputy head of the JFO, Serhiy Tyurin, two people sustained moderate injuries as a result of the shelling.

Ivano-Frankivsk region

On the morning of 15 February, explosions occurred during an air raid alert in Ivano-Frankivsk region. It is known that air defence forces were operating in the skies over the region.

As a result of the fall of debris in the Carpathian region, the roofs of outbuildings caught fire. The fire was extinguished.

There were no casualties or significant damage.
