MP Shkrum resigns from the Rada: her new position in the government revealed
2 December 23:48Batkivshchyna MP Aliona Shkrum has announced her resignation from the parliament. She announced this on Facebook, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
“…It’s true, I wrote a letter of resignation. on November 27, it was exactly 10 years since I took the oath of office as an MP in the Verkhovna Rada – that’s a lot. It’s time for big changes. Life is a movement. And you need to move to where you will be most useful at this very moment,” Shkrum wrote.
She published a photocopy of her statement.
The parliament’s website reported that the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Rules of Procedure, Deputy Ethics and Organization of Parliamentary Work had considered a draft resolution on Shkrum’s resignation from the parliament.
“The Committee decided to submit to the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution “On the early termination of the powers of the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Shkrum A.I.” and recommend that the Rada adopt it as a whole,” the statement said.
“Suspilne, citing sources, reported that the MP will receive a position in the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.
It is planned that Alyona Shkrum will become Deputy Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine, Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.
What is known about Alyona Shkrum
In 2008-2009, she was a junior associate at Volkov, Koziakov and Partners Law Firm. She also worked as a director of the Ukraine 2020 think tank.
In 2010-2011, she was an associate at the Paris Bar Association Chevalier Pericard Connesson.
From 2010 to 2012, she worked as a paralegal and lawyer at the London and Paris bar associations, and was a judge’s assistant at the London Court of Justice.
In 2014, she worked as an advocacy expert at the Right to Protection NGO.
In the seventh convocation of the Verkhovna Rada, she was a paid assistant to Iryna Gerashchenko (UDAR) and Ihor Alekseev (CPU).
Member of Parliament of the 8th convocation, elected from Batkivshchyna (No. 5 on the list) as a non-partisan.
