The leadership of the Russian Ministry of Defence has allowed servicemen participating in the so-called military operation to vote for Vladimir Putin without even going to the polls. This was reported by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kommersant Ukrainian reports
The “voters” will include those who have recently died, gone missing, or been captured.
“You do not need a passport or military ID to prove your identity – even a photocopy of your documents is enough. It is obvious that in this way, Russian ‘election commissions’ will try to increase the number of Putin’s voters by involving ‘dead souls’ in the ‘voting’. In particular, along with the existing military personnel, they plan to add those who have recently been killed, disappeared or captured to the number of people who have ‘voted’,”
– the report says.
It is noted that the Kremlin is taking a whole range of measures to fictitiously hold the “presidential elections in Russia”.
“Although it is obvious to everyone that neither the very fact of these elections nor their results are a means of legitimising Putin’s rule either in Russia or abroad,”
– the GUR noted.
Russian presidential elections
Three-day voting in the Russian presidential election began today. For the first time, the presidential election in Russia lasts three days – 15, 16 and 17 March.
Voting has now begun across the country. It is noted that voters are also voting online.
Stanislav Andreychuk, head of the all-Russian public movement for the protection of voters’ rights “Golos”, which is included in the register of foreign agents, noted that on the first day, many violations of the voting rules were recorded.
According to him, this included, in particular, a huge number of people voting under duress in the morning, the absence of observers and opposition to exit polls.
