A fire broke out at another oil depot in the Rostov region of Russia as a result of a UAV hit, according to Komersant ukrainskyi reports citing Russian media and Telegram channels.
Videos filmed by local residents show the scale of the fire to be quite large, but according to the local governor, “4 UAVs were shot down” and there were no casualties. The explosion occurred at around 3am local time.
The oil depot belongs to the Atlas plant, which is part of Russia’s state reserve system and specialises in the storage of petroleum products. In particular, the plant supplies oil products to the Russian army. For example, Russian media reported that in 2020, special exercises were held here, during which employees learned how to release oil products in three ways: by road, rail and pipeline.
Russian Telegram channels also reported a drone attack on an ammunition depot in Voronezh Oblast, but no detonation appears to have occurred.
As a reminder, another oil depot in the Rostov region, in Proletarsk, has been on fire for eleven days. About 20 fuel tanks have already burnt out, and there are more than 70 tanks at the base.
