Influenza incidence rate exceeds epidemic threshold in Rivne region

In Rivne region, the incidence of influenza and ARVI exceeds the epidemic threshold by 90%.
This is reported by the Rivne Regional State Administration with reference to the regional center for disease control and prevention, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.

“The number of patients with influenza and ARVI continues to grow in Rivne region. Over the past week, more than 13 thousand patients with acute respiratory viral infections have sought medical attention in the region. This is 25% more than the previous seven days,” the report says.

As noted, 65% of all cases were recorded among children, and a quarter of all patients are in the Rivne city territorial community.

Currently, the epidemic threshold is exceeded by 90%.

According to Oleksandr Koval, head of the Rivne Regional State Administration, education is organized in 535 schools in the region as follows: 294 are full-time, 92 are mixed, 2 are under quarantine, and 147 are working remotely, 123 of them due to the high incidence.

“According to medical forecasts, the high incidence in the region will continue for at least two more weeks,” Koval said.

Residents of the region are asked to take responsibility for their health. In case of symptoms of acute respiratory viral infection, consult a doctor and avoid self-medication.
