In early April, the Velyka Palad-Nagyhodos checkpoint will open on the border of Ukraine and Hungary. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Komersant ukrainskyi reports

“The construction of the checkpoint on temporary (modular) infrastructure is currently being completed. The checkpoint will be designed to clear passenger cars up to 3.5 tons and will operate during the day,” the statement said.

Temporary infrastructure has been installed on both the Hungarian and Ukrainian sides. Customs and border services will work there.

Work has been completed on expanding the site and the road section, and traffic flows have been arranged.

The necessary water, electricity and Internet connections are being made, and barriers are being installed.

Last December, the Luzhanka-Beregsurany checkpoint with Hungary became available for empty trucks weighing more than 7.5 tons. Currently, with the support of international partners, the road infrastructure at this checkpoint is being improved.

In total, there are 5 road checkpoints with Hungary, the largest being Chop-Záhony, which is the only one designed for trucks weighing more than 7.5 tons and carrying goods.
