191 combat engagements registered in the frontline over the last day: the hottest areas

Over the past day, December 8, 191 combat engagements were registered. Half of the fighting took place in the Pokrovske and Kurakhove directions. This is reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
“The situation at the front remains difficult. The enemy, using its superiority in manpower and equipment, is continuously attacking our positions. Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly holding back the onslaught of the occupiers, inflicting significant losses on the enemy,” the statement said.
According to the updated information, yesterday the enemy launched one missile attack on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements using two missiles, as well as 14 air strikes, dropping 25 drones. In addition, it carried out more than three thousand attacks, including 92 from multiple launch rocket systems and used 1599 kamikaze drones to defeat them.
The aggressor carried out air strikes, in particular in the areas of Novoandriivka and Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhia region.
Situation at the frontline
Inthe Kharkiv sector, the enemy stormed the positions of our defenders five times near Vovchansk, Liptsy and Vysoka Yaruga.
Inthe Kupyansk sector, eight attacks took place over the last day. Defense forces repelled enemy assaults near Pishchane, Kolisnykivka, Lozova and Zahryzove.
The enemy attacked inthe Liman sector 28 times. They tried to penetrate our defense near Bohuslavka, Druzhelyubivka, Kopanka, Zelenyi Hai, Zarichne, Terny, Yampolivka, Hrekivka, Nadiia and Makiivka.
Inthe Kramatorsk sector, the occupants attacked three times in the vicinity of Stupochky, Chasiv Yar and Bila Hora.
Inthe Toretsk sector, the enemy carried out eight attacks near the localities of Toretsk, Diliyivka, Leonidivka and Shcherbynivka.
Inthe Pokrovsk sector, our defenders stopped 53 aggressor’s assault actions towards the localities of Myroliubivka, Novotoretske, Promin, Lysivka, Dachanske, Zelene, Novyi Trud, Zhovte, Novotroitske and Chumatske.
In the Kurakhove sector, the Defense Forces repelled 40 Russian attacks. The occupants were most actively trying to advance in the areas of Sontsivka, Staryi Terni, Maksymilianivka, Dachne, Kurakhove, Katerynivka, Yelizavetivka, Hanivka, Antonivka and Uspenivka.
In theVremivsk sector, the enemy made 19 attacks on our positions in the areas of Novosilka, Novodarivka, Sukhi Yaliv and Blahodatne.
Inthe Orikhiv sector, the occupation forces, supported by aviation, stormed the positions of the Defense Forces once near Nesterianka.
The Defense Forces are making efforts to prevent the enemy from advancing deep into Ukrainian territory, successfully repelling seven enemy offensives in the Prydniprovskyi sector.
The enemy did not conduct any active operations inthe Huliaypillia and Siverskyi sectors yesterday.
Inthe Volyn and Polissya directions, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.
Enemy losses
Over the past day, the missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces hit one area of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment and two ground control stations for unmanned aerial vehicles.
In total, the losses of the Russian invaders amounted to 1220 people over the past day: 540 irretrievable and 680 sanitary losses.
Ukrainian troops also neutralized 18 armored combat vehicles, 3 artillery systems, 22 tactical UAVs, 2 cruise missiles, 24 vehicles and 1 unit of occupants’ special equipment.
