The number of TruCAM radars on Ukrainian roads has increased: map

Since 29 February, the number of areas where patrol police use TruCAM speed radars on Ukrainian roads has increased by 31. This was reported by the Patrol Police, Kommersant Ukrainian reports

The police use TruCAM devices together with automatic recording cameras.

The locations are determined in accordance with the state of road accidents in areas of concentration of accidents caused by drivers exceeding the speed limit.

In the regions where active hostilities are ongoing, in particular in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, the speed monitoring devices are temporarily not used, while in Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Kherson oblasts they are used on certain sections of roads.

Taking into account the martial law and the results of the accident analysis, the following changes were made to 314 sections

  • 31 new sections were added,
  • changes were made to 11 sections,
  • 12 sites were removed from the list,
  • work was suspended on 54 sections.

In total, 150 TruCAM devices will be operating on Ukrainian roads, and measurements will be carried out on 279 road sections.

The patrol police remind that the use of speed measuring devices is indicated by road signs warning of photo and video recording of violations. A police car with blue flashing lights will be stationed at the locations where violations are recorded.

Since 1 January, 50 more auto-fixing systems for traffic violations have been operating on Ukrainian roads. 19 systems that had been in operation before the full-scale invasion resumed their work. Another 31 control devices were launched on Ukrainian roads for the first time, including in Boryspil, Kryvyi Rih, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Lviv and Odesa regions.
