“Art Showcases: Ukrainian brands platform presents a unique installation of applied art

The capital’s platform of Ukrainian brands Vsi. Svoi” in cooperation with the House of Workshop presented a series of art installations by contemporary local craftsmen. Their works, symbolising Ukrainian arts and crafts, are displayed in the windows of the flagship store at 27 Khreshchatyk Street. The project has become a platform for displaying products created in different regions of the country, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"
“Our important mission is the revival and development of Ukrainian national expressions. This collaboration is aimed at supporting and developing our cultural identity. Each piece in the showcase is unique and has no repetition, and carries its own deep meanings,”

Among the works on display is the “Birth of a Grandfather” by Olena Konohorova. The artist creates her own installations without using templates.
“When we talk about traditions, it is important to remember the context, they are almost never detached from the wheel of the year. This composition was created based on this thesis.
The usual didukh is usually associated with the Christmas period, when it is the compositional dominant in Ukrainian festive interior decoration. But it is born during the harvest season,”
– explained Konohorova, whose work focuses on the agricultural traditions and historical ties of the Ukrainian people.

Another interesting installation is “Those Who Bring Peace” by Yevhen Klymenko. His works, which combine painting, graphics and collage, depict the author’s vision of Ukraine’s history.
ZHORNA Archaic Ukraine, a workshop that reinterprets archaic forms and textures, adding a modern twist to them, also presented its products. In their work, they use exclusively eco-friendly components, creating objects that connect the past and the future.
The project was created specifically for Vsi. Svoi by the Ukrainian house “Masterpiece”. Since 2020, the Workshop has been bringing together craftsmen from different parts of Ukraine to promote contemporary Ukrainian arts and crafts.
The installation entitled “Art Showcases” will be on view until the end of November 2024.
