Milovanov opens a vocational school: how to get a technical specialty for free

The Ukrainian labor market is experiencing a shortage of skilled workers in a number of specialties, including welders, mechanics, electricians, and CNC machine operators. Given the urgency of this problem, the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) is opening a new area of study for those who want to quickly master technical professions and find work in in-demand industries. This was announced by the President of the Kyiv School of Economics Tymofiy Mylovanov, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.

“The Ukrainian market lacks working specialties such as welders, mechanics, electricians, and CNC machine operators. That’s why KSE is opening a working proftech. What other professions are needed?” Milovanov wrote.

The KSE ProfTech program offers free training for anyone who wants to get a professional qualification in the following specialties

  • CNC operator
  • Electric welder
  • Turner
  • Electrician
  • Locksmith-repairer

The duration of the courses varies from 2.5 to 4 months, which makes it possible to quickly master the necessary skills.

The main emphasis is on practical training, which allows students to master the real technologies and methods of work used in modern production.

The training will take place in Kyiv. The theoretical part is in a mixed format (online and offline) at the KSE campus, and the practical part is offline at the KSE campus and at the enterprises of employer partners

The training takes place on modern KSE ProfTech simulators and simulators, as well as on the real equipment of the program partners.

In accordance with the needs of employers, the training includes both theoretical knowledge and practical skills that allow students to quickly adapt to the requirements of modern production.

They are offered free courses that allow them to acquire new skills and continue to support the country by working in in-demand industries.

The following documents are required for admission:

  • Passport (ID card) and identification code (copies)
  • Certificate of complete secondary education (copies)
  • Documents confirming the availability of vocational, secondary specialty, higher education (copies)
  • Certificate of preliminary medical examination
  • For persons with disabilities – a certificate of disability
  • Military registration document.

Employment and real demand for specialists

According to Work.ua, there are more than 5000 vacancies on the Ukrainian market for workers in technical specialties, including CNC operators, welders, mechanics and electricians. The average salary for such specialists in Ukraine is between UAH 25,000 and 45,000. Depending on the level of skill and specialization, this amount may be higher.
