Milovanov: The United States, by supporting Russia at the UN, “sent the rest of the democratic world to f@ck off”

The United States could have simply abstained from the UN resolution against Russia. Instead, they deliberately voted with Russia. They sided with Russia, demonstratively!

This is no longer just rhetoric or political theater. These are actions that leave little room for ambiguity.

This is a direct “fuck you” to the rest of the democratic world.

At least that’s how it looks to me from Ukraine.

Many people here do not see any brilliant strategy for peace, no matter how hard you try to come up with an explanation. They see a deal.

What kind of deal? And we won’t have to wait long for an answer.

The consequences could be serious. If there is an agreement, then after the (attempted?) dismemberment of Ukraine (if it works out), the newly-made allies will move on – at least to Eastern Europe.

I hope I am wrong, that I am exaggerating and dramatizing. But the signs, both overt and behind the scenes, are too obvious.

If there is indeed a peace strategy for Europe that does not involve surrendering Ukraine to Russia, then the United States must prove it – and quickly. (Former?) Allies in the EU are desperate and cannot believe their eyes.

The conflict between Trump and Zelenskyy over mineral resources and security guarantees is now fading into the background. A bigger picture is now emerging, with the US and Russia on one side and the rest of the West on the other.

Or am I exaggerating?
