Moratorium on strikes on the energy sector: The Kremlin has published a list of objects

25 March 22:48

The aggressor country, Russia, has published a list of Russian and Ukrainian targets that, according to agreements in Saudi Arabia, cannot be shelled during the 30-day truce. This was reported by Russian propaganda media, Komersant ukrainskyi informs

The Kremlin’s statement refers to a “temporary moratorium on strikes on the energy system” that Ukraine and Russia must adhere to, and a list of targets agreed between Moscow and Washington.

The list allegedly includes

  • oil refineries
  • oil and gas pipelines and storage facilities, including pumping stations
  • infrastructure that produces and transmits electricity, including power plants, substations, transformers and distributors
  • nuclear power plants
  • hydroelectric dams.

The Russian invaders are cynically silent about the fact that they are also striking civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings with civilians, schools, hospitals, etc. These objects are not on the list.

The document is allegedly agreed between the United States and Russia.

The Kremlin’s statement says that the “temporary moratorium” has been in effect since March 18 (despite claims from the Ukrainian side that it was actually violated by Russia on the very first day) and is designed for 30 days.

“In case of violation of the moratorium by one of the parties, the other party has the right to consider itself free from obligations to comply with it,” Putin added.

It should be noted that on March 25, a new round of talks between the United States and Ukraine took place in Saudi Arabia. The delegations have already completed the second meeting in Riyadh.

russia released a final statement after the meeting with U.S. officials in Saudi Arabia. In particular, it outlined the conditions for a truce with Ukraine at sea, including the lifting of sanctions on Russian agricultural exports.

Details of the negotiations between Ukraine and the United States

The day before, representatives of Washington met with a Ukrainian delegation, including Pavlo Palisa, deputy head of Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office, and Anatoliy Bargilevych, inspector general of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

Ukraine’s Defense Minister Rustem Umerov noted that the talks were “constructive and meaningful.” One of the topics discussed was the situation in the energy sector, which is of great importance for Ukraine’s security.
