Moldova starts demanding a new document from Ukrainian drivers
11 November 20:00Moldova has begun to require Ukrainian drivers to present a document on the technical inspection of their cars. This was reported by Yuriy Khayev, an expert on tourism development and owner of the OTDIKHAEVI travel company, Komersant ukrainskyi.
The document on technical inspection is required at all checkpoints on the border of Ukraine and Moldova. The year of manufacture of the car does not matter.
The call center of the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova comments on the situation:
“The technical inspection is a basic document, according to HG 357/2009 on the approval of the Traffic Rules, Article 121. According to it, it is prohibited to operate a vehicle if
it has not been subjected to state technical control, there is no ticket for a report on the inspection of the technical condition of the vehicle”.
It is noted that such control is mandatory for all vehicles (Moldovan and foreign, Ukraine is not an exception), regardless of the duration of the trip.
As a reminder, there are 57 checkpoints and control points on the Ukrainian-Moldovan border:
- 41 automobile checkpoints;
- 2 ferry checkpoints;
- 3 river checkpoints;
- 8 railway checkpoints;
- 3 control points.
