According to him, the fight against illegal gambling continues.
“We have built a clear work with Apple and Google on this track, and after the request of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, all illegal applications are immediately blocked by the companies,” Mykhailo Fedorov said.
He said that in 2024 alone, the Ministry of Digital Transformation blocked
– 92 apps in the AppStore,
– 26 applications in the Play Market.
Another 4,460 online casino sites were removed by order of the State Special Communications Service.
The Minister invited Ukrainians to become part of the fight against illegal gambling.
“If you see an illegal casino in Apple and Google, please report it to [email protected] with the subject line “Casino blocking”,” Mikhail Federov wrote in Telegram.
Control over the gambling market has been tightened in Ukraine
At the end of last year, the Verkhovna Rada passed the draft law No. 9256-d, which, among other things, provided for the liquidation of the Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (CRGL) and introduced many restrictions on activities in this area.
By April 1, 2025, a new authorized body is to be established to replace the CRGC and a ministry is to be designated to be responsible for policy-making in the field of gambling and lotteries. It is also planned to introduce mechanisms for blocking access to illegal gambling websites and applications.
The de-shadowing of the gambling business has resulted in a record increase in tax revenues.

In early January of this year, Danylo Hetmantsev, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, cited the following figures: UAH 204.8 million was paid in taxes in 2021, UAH 730.9 million in 2022, and as much as UAH 17 billion in 2024.
