The Ministry of Defense has launched contracts for Ukrainians aged 18-24: 1 million per year, benefits and the right to travel abroad

On February 11, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine officially announced the launch of the Contract 18-24 initiative, a program for Ukrainians aged 18 to 24 who want to join the Defense Forces for one year. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
The Defense Ministry emphasizes that the main emphasis is on voluntariness.
“The 18-24 contract is not coercion, mobilization, or obligation. It is an opportunity for people to make a conscious choice, gain combat experience and financial stability in just one year. It is up to the volunteer to decide whether to continue serving or return to civilian life, having unique prospects,” emphasized Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov.
“Contract 18-24“: what is offered to volunteers
This program offers new opportunities for young people, including
- decent financial remuneration
- combat training in accordance with NATO standards;
- social guarantees that are not available in civilian professions.
Importantly, participation in the program is completely voluntary.
As noted by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, a one-year contract allows for combat experience and financial stability without the need to continue service.

Financial terms and benefits
Participants in the 18-24 Contract will receive
- a contract for UAH 1,000,000, of which UAH 200,000 is paid immediately and the rest is paid during the service
- a monthly allowance of up to UAH 120,000;
- the possibility of obtaining a “zero” mortgage;
- education at public expense;
- free medical care, including dental prosthetics;
- the right to travel abroad after completing a year of service;
- exemption from mobilization for 12 months after the end of the contract.
How to join the program?
You can apply through the official website 18-24.army.gov.ua or soon through the mobile application “Reserve”.
After submitting an application, candidates will have a consultation with a recruiter, sign a contract and begin training in combat units.
As a reminder, US President Donald Trump may set a condition for Ukraine to lower the mobilization age to 18 in exchange for military assistance.
