SBI suspects businessman of disrupting supplies to the Armed Forces under 23 contracts
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has launched an investigation into all contracts, including those with companies linked to the family of Lviv businessman Ihor Hrynkevych. This was announced by Deputy Defence Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov during a telethon, according to .
According to Klimenkov, the companies of Lviv businessman Ihor Hrynkevych disrupted supplies to the Armed Forces of Ukraine under 23 contracts, and the losses are preliminarily estimated at UAH 1.5 billion.
After analysing the contracts, it turned out that, for example, the contracts for the supply of military uniforms were concluded in early 2023 under the scheme of direct contracts and sole decision-making. At the same time, in this episode alone, two officials who worked with the Ministry of Defence are already under investigation.
“In addition, a company affiliated to Hrynkevych’s family won one lot for the supply of food to the military in two regions, this was done at an open tender in the ProZorro system. We have learned that the SBI has arrested the property and accounts of this entrepreneur, and this is a change in the essential terms of the contract, so the Ministry of Defence has made an official request to the SBI to confirm this information in order to be able to act and terminate the contracts, and we are waiting for a response,” Klymenkov added.
As a reminder, on 11 January, law enforcement officers seized the property of the family and campaigns controlled by Lviv businessman Ihor Hrynkevych. The latter is also suspected of bribing a State Bureau of Investigation investigator in the amount of USD 500,000.
