The Ministry of Defense wants to reform the TCC: what will replace them
20 December 21:43The Ministry of Defense is developing a variant of a complete reform of the Defense Ministry. This was stated by First Deputy Head of the Ministry Ivan Havryliuk, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.
According to him, first of all, it is necessary to pay attention to who the territorial acquisition centers are subordinated to and change this situation.
“Today, the Ministry of Defense is developing a variant of complete reform of TCCs in a new way. First of all, they will be subordinated to the Ministry of Defense and completely new structures will be created to carry out activities related to the mobilization of persons liable for military service,” Havryliuk said.
It should be noted that currently the TCCs are subordinated to the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which in turn are subordinated to the General Staff.
The Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCRS) is a body of the military administration of Ukraine that maintains military records and mobilizes the population. Starting in 2022, the CMC and SP completely replaced the former system of military commissariats.
In order to ensure the fulfillment of the tasks and functions of the district territorial centers of recruitment and social support, structural subdivisions (departments, branches, groups, services) are formed within them, which operate in accordance with the regulation on the structural subdivision of the district territorial center of recruitment and social support, approved by the head of the district territorial center of recruitment and social support.
TCCs are tasked with managing the military duty (obligation) and military service of citizens: mobilization training and mobilization; managing the military registration of conscripts, persons liable for military service and reservists on the territory of the respective administrative-territorial unit; selecting candidates for enlistment in military service under a contract; participating in the selection of citizens for service in the military reserve; preparing and conducting mobilization of human and transport resources during a special period; ensuring the
As of 2023, the number of TCCs is over 200 and is distributed among four operational commands: “North, South, West, and East.
