Minister of Veterans Affairs Laputina resigns

The Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Yulia Laputina has submitted her resignation from her post. This is stated in a statement by the parliament, according to

Appointed to the post in December 2020, Yulia Laputina was promoted to the rank of major general in March 2020, becoming the second woman general in the history of independent Ukraine.

Her professional career includes serving as Deputy Head of the SSU’s Special Operations Centre “A”, Deputy Head of the SSU’s Department of Counterintelligence Protection of the State’s Interests in the Field of Information Security, and Commander of the SSU Task Force in the ATO.

In the period from 2014 to 2020, Yulia Laputina actively participated in the implementation of tasks to ensure the security of the state in the ATO/JFO area. From August 2020 to December 2020, she held the position of Director General of the Directorate of Communication and Information Policy of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
