One billion hryvnias of cashback: when will Ukrainians see this money on their accounts?

The total amount of funds accumulated by participants in the National Cashback program has reached one billion hryvnias. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the Ministry of Economy.

“Of this amount, UAH 606 million is the result for December and the first half of January – UAH 436 million and UAH 170 million, respectively,” the report says.

The program is already actively used by 4.7 million citizens, including 65% of women and 35% of men. The program has been joined by 20 banks and 1672 manufacturers, and cashback is available for 355.4 thousand Ukrainian-made goods.

The cashback accumulated in December and January will be paid out at the end of February 2025. The funds are not taxed.

“In addition, 10 million Ukrainians have already applied in the Diia application for payments under the Winter is Support program. Among them, almost 2.5 million have applied for child benefits,” said Yulia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

She noted that heating and other utility bills remain the key areas where people spend the assistance they receive.

According to Svyrydenko, out of 10 million applications to Diia over a month and a half, 14% are from temporarily displaced persons, 18.5% are from people aged 60 and over, women have submitted 68% of applications, and men have submitted 32%. The average age of applicants is 40 years.

How the National Cashback program works

The government refunds 10% of the cost of Ukrainian goods from a special list purchased in participating stores. The funds are transferred to a special National Cashback card, which cannot be withdrawn.

The program involves 17 partner banks, including the country’s largest financial institutions. The number of participating manufacturers has reached 1665, and the total number of Ukrainian goods covered by cashback is 360 thousand items.

  • Utilities.
  • Medical services.
  • Education.
  • Transportation.
  • Mobile communication.
  • Insurance.
  • Books and printed materials.
  • Medicines and medical products of Ukrainian origin.
  • Charity.
  • Donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine through charitable foundations.

The maximum cashback amount is 3000 UAH per month.

How to join the program

To participate in the program, you need to apply through the mobile application of an authorized bank or contact a branch, open a National Cashback card and activate it in the Diia application.
