Medyanyk from the Servant of the People party resigns from his mandate

Member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction Vyacheslav Medyanyk has written a letter of resignation. Oleksiy Honcharenko, a deputy from the European Solidarity faction, wrote about this on his Telegram channel, according to
“People’s Deputy Medyanyk (Servant of the People) resigns his mandate,”
– he wrote.
The Regulatory Committee of the Verkhovna Rada will consider Medyanyk’s statement at a meeting on 22 February.
on 19 February, ZN.ua wrote that Medyanyk wanted to resign due to serious health problems. He plans to go abroad for treatment, as he has five children.
What is known about Viacheslav Medianyk
Viacheslav Medianyk was born on 3 August 1987 in the city of Snizhne, Donbas. He received his higher education at the Dnipro National University of Internal Affairs, where he graduated from the Faculty of Law.
In 2002, he started his business career by setting up a company in which he invested about one hundred thousand US dollars. He was one of the founders of the Atlant construction company, which was engaged in the development of new buildings in Dnipro. He worked as an assistant to Andriy Denysenko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada of the eighth convocation.
In 2019, Medyanyk won the election to the Verkhovna Rada in the 27th district of Dnipro region, defeating MP Tetiana Rychkova from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction.
In the Rada, he served as deputy chairman of the Committee on Law Enforcement.
The politician is married and has five children.
It should be noted that the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption confirmed that in January this year it transferred UAH 122.5 million to the Servant of the People political party to finance its statutory activities.
In January this year, the NACP press service also reported that the Servant of the People returned almost UAH 49 million of unused budget funds for 2022 to the state budget. This happened after the law renewed financial reporting obligations for Ukrainian political parties in December last year.
“The Servant of the People is the winning party in the 2019 parliamentary elections, which saw it win 254 seats out of 450 and thus gain the ability to make most parliamentary decisions alone. Currently, the Servant of the People faction officially has 235 MPs, but in practice, the political party does not have the 226 votes needed to pass laws and other acts.
Earlier, MP Mariana Bezuhla was expelled from the Servant of the People party.
