The media showed what the “Ukrainian Shahed” looks like (photo)
2 December 21:41For the first time, an analog of the Shahed UAV was shown in Ukraine. This happened during the visit of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to Kyiv, Komersant ukrainskyi reports, citing Defense Express.
According to the media outlet, the Ukrainian drone is likely to have been made using a similar aerodynamic design to the Iranian drone. It was made in the form of a flying wing and vertical stabilizers on its limbs. This drone may be designed to hit targets in the enemy’s near rear.
However, it is not a complete copy of the Shahed-136. The Ukrainian UAV is not long-range, as indicated by its dimensions.
“The dimensions of this drone are approximately 1.5 meters in wingspan and length. At the same time, the Shahed-136 is 3.75 meters long and has a wingspan of 2.5 meters,” the media outlet writes.
The Ukrainian drone is also equipped with an electric motor, which provides a much shorter flight range than an internal combustion engine. This is obviously a barrage munition designed to hit targets in the enemy’s near rear. This is indicated by details such as antennas and a hole in the nose fairing that could be a camera.
