on June 9, 2025, Apple’s annual developer conference WWDC 2025 took place, which became one of the most revolutionary in recent years. The company introduced a large-scale interface redesign called Liquid Glass, significant updates for all its operating systems, and the expansion of Apple Intelligence capabilities. This year’s presentation demonstrated Apple’s ambitious plans to unify design and integrate artificial intelligence into all aspects of the user experience, "Komersant Ukrainian" writes.
Design revolution: Liquid Glass as a new standard

The most important news of WWDC 2025 was the introduction of the Liquid Glass concept, the first major redesign of Apple’s interface since iOS 7 in 2013. The new design system is based on unique “liquid glass” textures that create the effect of depth and transparency. Liquid Glass is integrated into all applications and lock screens and works in both light and dark modes. Most importantly, users will get enhanced personalization options, including customization of the color scheme to suit individual needs.
iOS 26: personalization and simplification

The iOS 26 update focuses on improving personalization and simplifying key functions. The lock screen now has the ability to zoom in on the clock, support for 3D screensavers, and dynamic wallpapers with music. The camera interface has been greatly simplified by dividing the main shooting modes and organizing the photo archive into different tabs. CarPlay has also received a long-awaited redesign with support for widgets, dark mode, and customization options for different car brands.
Artificial intelligence in phone calls and messages

Apple Intelligence significantly expands its capabilities in iOS 26. The system will now automatically summarize phone conversations, improve the filtering of calls from unknown numbers, and allow subscribers to immediately inform the reason for the call. The messaging app now features the ability to create custom backgrounds using internal AI, polls in group chats, and automatic grouping of messages from unknown contacts. The feature of combining emojis and automatic real-time translation for messages, videos, and calls is particularly interesting.
Multimedia and entertainment: from Apple Music to games
Apple Music received a live translation function and a new AutoMix technology for seamlessly combining melodies with the ability to stretch time and match rhythms. The company also introduced a separate Games app for managing a game library with recommendations based on gaming habits and a “play together” feature to track friends’ activity. The new Visual Intelligence feature allows you to highlight objects in photos and screenshots to find places to buy or add events to your calendar, competing with similar Samsung solutions.

WatchOS 26: a smart fitness companion

Apple Watch has received a significant update with the integration of Apple Intelligence in the form of the Workout Buddy feature. The system becomes a personal trainer that not only comments on workouts but also motivates users based on their previous achievements and summarizes the results. AI will also select the best music for your workout, and the automatic translation and quick response function will significantly expand the communication capabilities of the watch.
TV content and voice control

tvOS received not only a Liquid Glass design but also new features to improve the user experience. Apple announced new TV shows for Apple TV and introduced automatic profile selection when the device is turned on. An interesting innovation is the ability to use an iPhone as a microphone in Apple Music karaoke mode on the TV, which expands the interactive capabilities of the platform.
macOS Tahoe: performance and customization

The desktop operating system is called macOS Tahoe and is based on the same Liquid Glass concept. Key innovations include enhanced customization options for the Control Center with support for third-party elements and personalization of folders with emojis and color accents. Shortcuts have become smarter thanks to the integration of Apple Intelligence, and Spotlight has received intelligent suggestions and the ability to launch iOS applications through iPhone Mirroring.
Vision OS 26: virtual reality for business

The platform for VR headsets has received customized widgets, 3D functions for photos, and the ability to share a virtual space for several users. Apple emphasized the corporate capabilities of the platform with enhanced protection of confidential data and support for PlayStation VR controllers. These innovations position Vision Pro as a serious tool for business applications.
iPadOS 26: revolutionizing the windowed interface

The most dramatic changes in iPadOS 26 concern the window management system, which brings the tablet closer to a full-fledged computer. Users will be able to resize the windows of different applications, minimize them in the Dock, and place them in a mosaic on the screen. The top menu, familiar to Macs, has been introduced, and the updates will be available for all iPad models, including the Mini. File management has also been improved with the ability to choose a default app and new features for video calls.
All of the updates presented will be available for developer beta testing today, with general beta testing starting this month and the final versions to be released in the fall. WWDC 2025 demonstrated that Apple continues to move towards deeper integration of artificial intelligence and unification of user experience across all its platforms, while providing users with more personalization options.
