Massive attack: Russia attacks power facilities in four regions

During today’s massive air strike on Ukraine, Russian troops attacked critical energy infrastructure in four regions. This was announced by Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko, Komersant ukrainskyi 
reports.
“The enemy is attacking our energy infrastructure again!”
– he wrote.
The Minister said that generation facilities and transmission systems in Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv and Kyiv regions were attacked.
“Power engineers are already working to eliminate the consequences,”
– galushchenko added.
DTEK, in turn, reported that during this combined attack, Russia hit two of its thermal power plants. The power engineers noted that their equipment was seriously damaged.
“After the attack ended, the power engineers promptly began to eliminate the consequences and restore the equipment. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties,”
– dTEK said.
The Southern Defence Forces of Ukraine noted that at night the enemy massively attacked the south of Ukraine with regular waves of attack drones.
“The combat operation lasted more than 5 hours. The aggressor is again targeting the energy infrastructure. 21 drones were destroyed in the course of combat operations by air defence forces: 7 – in Odesa region, 8 – in Mykolaiv region, 3 – in Kherson and Dnipro regions,”
– the statement said.
It is noted that the enemy attacked power facilities in Odesa and Zaporizhzhia regions. In particular, in Odesa region , the wreckage of downed drones caused a fire on the territory of a power facility.
“The fire was promptly extinguished,”
– the military stated.
In Mykolaiv region , the wreckage of the downed drones fell in an open area. There was no information on damage or casualties.
In addition, at dawn, the enemy massively attacked Ukraine with various types of missiles. In particular, they fired guided missiles from tactical aircraft at Zaporizhzhia region .
“Two missiles were destroyed by air defence forces, but unfortunately, there were also hits. An energy infrastructure facility was damaged in Zaporizhzhya district. The extent of the damage is being clarified,”
– the Defence Forces added.
