Kichenok is also the first tennis player in the history of Ukraine to reach the finals at all four Grand Slams.
This is the second time in history that Ukraine has won the doubles Grand Slam, the first time being at the 2008 Australian Open, won by Alyona and Kateryna Bondarenko.
