China and Russia are uniting against the United States: what Putin and Xi have decided

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin have agreed to take their cooperation to a new level and “resolutely oppose Washington’s policy of ‘containment’ of Russia and China.”

In a joint statement after the talks, they agreed to deepen relations in all areas, including military ties, and “strengthen coordination to resolutely counter Washington’s policy of ‘dual containment’ of Russia and China.”
Both countries said that the “conflict” in Ukraine can only be resolved by addressing its “root causes” – a phrase Russia often uses to claim that it was forced to go to war to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO, the media outlet noted.
During the talks, Xi reportedly said that China and Russia should strengthen the foundations of their cooperation and “eliminate external interference.” He added that Russia and China would work together to resist “unilateralism and intimidation,” and the two countries should “be true friends of steel who have gone through a hundred trials by fire.”
For his part, Putin, quoted by The Moscow Times, said that Russia “has become the main importer of Chinese cars in the world” and would therefore welcome “the creation and transfer of Chinese industrial production” to its territory. Putin added that Moscow is ready to provide “comfortable conditions for the activities of companies from China in Russia” and considers Russian-Chinese relations “a model of interstate communication in the 21st century.”
Xi is the most influential of more than two dozen foreign leaders visiting Moscow this week to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II on Thursday, a celebration of great significance to Putin. Xi’s participation and a joint statement aligning China’s position with that of Russia’s give Putin important support as Russia comes under pressure from the United States to end the war.
