Kucherenko calls on Gerus to resign due to complete failure of work

Oleksiy Kucherenko, MP and first deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities, has called for the replacement of Andriy Gerus, chairman of the Rada’s Energy Committee. He wrote about this on Facebook, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Kucherenko commented on the latest article by investigative journalist Yuriy Nikolov, who criticized the amendments to the charters of state-owned energy companies Ukrenergo and GTS Operator. The MP not only thanked the journalist for “free advertising” but also supported the actions of the government and the Ministry of Energy.
“I sincerely congratulate the independent anti-corruption journalist Mr. Nikolov on his professional holiday! Yesterday I read his latest opus on changes to the charters of state-owned energy companies. For some reason, Mr. Nikolov and a number of “experts” are against this, while I personally am strongly in favor of it!” Kucherenko wrote.
He noted that he fully supports the government’s initiative, which, according to him, is designed to strengthen the responsibility of government agencies for managing critical energy infrastructure. According to Kucherenko, this is only the first step in regaining control over energy processes.

“Now it is only necessary to restore the mechanisms of parliamentary and public control over the activities of the government and energy monopolies,” the MP said.
The politician also called on the chairman of the Energy Committee, Andriy Gerus, to resign.
“The first step here should be the voluntary resignation of the chairman of the Energy Committee, Mr. Gerus, due to the complete failure of his work and professional incompetence!” Kucherenko emphasized.
According to him, an “adequate candidate” for this position can be found in the Servant of the People faction, who will work in the interests of Ukraine’s energy security.
The MP also emphasized that he is open to cooperation with the media and plans to invite journalist Nikolov and other independent investigators to cover the work of the provisional investigatory commissions (PICs).
“I am ready to invite this investigator along with other patriotic journalists to cover the work of the PIC in the interests of society and the state! Glory to Ukraine!” Kucherenko concluded his post.
