A new financial scandal is brewing in Ukrainian soccer. Sports journalist Ihor Burbas has gained access to documents that show colossal payments to the heads of the Ukrainian Association of Football, which he announced on the air of his own YouTube project BurBuzz, Komersant ukrainskyi Komersant ukrainskyi reports.

According to BurBuzz, UAF general secretary Ihor Hryshchenko received UAH 1,530,266 in December. What exactly is included in this amount – salary, bonuses or bonuses – remains unknown for now.

“According to information from my reliable sources, 1,530, 266 h ryvnia was accrued for the month of December to the Secretary General of the UAF – Igor Valerievich Grishchenko. This is reliable data. I am down to the hryvnia here talking. I want to hear the answer of the UAF. If they want to refute, then let them come out, provide information, show. But they won’t be able to refute anything. Can you imagine if the secretary general gets paid that much, how much the president gets? I’ve got all the data. Believe me, it’s more than double. We have all the data. The entire UAF management staff,” Burbas said.

The journalist voiced a demand to the UAF to provide official explanations on this matter: to confirm or deny the figures voiced.

Burbas promised to announce the salaries of other UAF representatives in his next broadcasts. And Andriy Shevchenko, in particular.

“I would like to ask the UAF, in what country do they live? In Ukraine? In the state that is now at war? Because sometimes you get the impression that they do not feel the realities. Do you feel the realities? Can you feel the ground beneath your feet? It seems to me shameless some figures (earnings – ed.) that they get. It seems to me that they have forgotten that there is a war in the country,” Burbas added.

He added that the heads of regional soccer associations receive much more modest sums – within the range of only 12-20 thousand hryvnias per month.
