Microsoft has urged users not to update their devices to Windows 11. The new software has caused problems with the use of some services. This was reported by the company’s press service, according to Komersant ukrainskyi
“Please do not install Windows 11 KB5043145. This month’s optional update is a disaster, and some of you will not be able to boot to your desktop,” the statement said.
A large number of users have contacted Windows Latest support with reports of a “blue screen of death” and even a “green screen of death”. Also, mice, keyboards and WiFi do not work after the update.
This issue is particularly affecting the Asus TUF A15 and ROG Strix G17 laptops, but is not limited to these models. Microsoft support has confirmed that they are aware of the situation and recommend that users submit reports through the Feedback Centre.
The company clarified that this version of the software is not mandatory, so it should not be downloaded independently. However, some people have reported the opposite.
Windows 11 users have complained that they cannot use the mouse and keyboard after updating to KB5043145. The update doesn’t affect the mouse or keyboard, but it does affect the USB ports.
There have also been failures with WSL2 on AMD systems, causing users to receive a connection timeout error.
Other issues include the lack of Wi-Fi after the update and the return of the old Windows 10-like context menu style.
Microsoft is working on fixing these issues, but in the meantime, users are advised to uninstall the update manually or look for a fix in the Microsoft Store.
