Those Ukrainians who apply for “eSupport” abroad will have to return the funds later. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced this on December 2 during a national telethon, reports [Kommersant].

“There may be a minimal number of people who will abuse this. But we will audit these things afterwards, and such people, as it has been the case in previous times, will return the funds,” the Prime Minister said.

Shmyhal emphasized that the program is valid only for citizens who are in Ukraine.

He also said that as of December 2, more than 3 million applications have already been submitted by Ukrainians for assistance in the amount of UAH 1,000 under the Winter eSupport program. These funds can be used to pay for utilities, medicines, education and healthcare services, as well as to donate to the Armed Forces.
